Artist M.C. Michele Farrier is Artist-in-Residence in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West’s Whitney Western Art Museum July 2–6. Each day that week, from 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., she demonstrates her work and technique while chatting with visitors.

About Michele Farrier

Michele is active and enjoys time out of doors learning and observing. Her work is often done in the field using oil and soft pastels, with a few finishing touches being completed in her studio. She endeavors to recreate not only what she sees, but what that means to her. She is drawn to shadows that create strong patterns, natural compositions and balance.

Farrier received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of California-Davis, and earned a K-12 Art Specialist Teaching Credential from California State University-Sacramento. Her work can be found in the Wyoming State Art Collection and the Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyoming. It is also for sale at both DeSelm’s Fine Art in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Guchiebird’s in Driggs, Idaho.

The Center of the West’s summer educational programs are supported in part by an award from the Wyoming Arts Council through funding from the National Endowment for the Arts; and by a generous grant from the R. Harold Burton Foundation.
