Opening Ceremony - 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
During the Opening Ceremony, there will be a screening of the new film from Dianne Fukami and Debra Kakatomi, An American Story: Norman Mineta and His Legacy, along with a Q&A with the filmmakers and Secretary Mineta. 

Educational Sessions - 2:00-3:10 pm & 3:20-4:30 pm

  • B: Authors on Incarceration - Andrea Warren, Duncan Williams, Brad Pearson, & Shirley Higuchi
  • C: Memories of Heart Mountain - Sam Mihara
  • D: Poetry Workshop - Kurt Ikeda
  • E: Seeds of Our Grandmothers' Dreams - Tani Ikeda
Multigenerational Discussions - 4:45-6:30 pm
This activity will give participants a chance to reflect on the Japanese American incarceration experience, and express our thoughts in a safe, supportive, small group environment. If you are interested in being a moderator, check the box on the registration worksheet. Some training will be offered prior to the event.
