Event Description:
Northwest College kicks off their Native American Heritage Month celebration with their 3rd Annual Tipi-Raising. Johnny Tim Yellowtail, Marenda Bearshield and Chris Finley will demonstrate how to raise a tipi according to the Apsaalooke tradition and discuss the significance of tipis to Native Americans. Following the raising, everyone will be invited to participate in a smudging ceremony.
