Deborah Willis was born in Calgary, Alberta. Her first book, Vanishing and Other Stories, was named one of The Globe and Mail’s Best books of 2009, and was shortlisted for the Governor General’s Award.
Her second collection of short stories, The Dark and Other Love Stories, was published in February 2017and was longlisted for the 2017 Giller Prize, and named one of the best books of the year by The Globe and Mail and the CBC. Deborah is a Writer-in-Residence at MacEwan University in Edmonton.
