DESCRIPTION:Hosting an event? Announcing an accomplishment? Seeking community support? Learn how to write effective press releases to publicize information.  This workshop will help community members learn the ropes of gathering details\, formatting press releases to Associated Press style and then distributing it to local and regional news organizations. Powell Tribune editors Yancy Bonner\, Ilene Olson and Tessa Schweigert will teach the course. Students are asked to bring a notebook\, pen and an example of a release that you want to send to a newspaper (if available) and an Associated Press Stylebook\, if you have them. We?ll be in the computer lab so you might want to bring your work on electronic format as well.
